Popcorn hull stuck?

Monday, January 7th, 2019

Many of us have a weak spot for Popcorn.  You may have even received one of those famous popcorn assorted tins as a gift this year.

We have all been there, a day or two later, we find a popcorn kernel hull wedged between our tooth and gum.  A few things you can do to self remedy this is by using floss and gently pressing the floss against where the hull is wedged and slowly trying to work it out.  If you have access to a waterpik you can use that on a low setting to try to work the hull free.  Remember, you always want to move in a motion away from the gum as to not wedge the hull in further.

You can actually get an infection from a popcorn hull.  In that case, we recommend rinsing with warm salt water as this will help against infections, and is a good step to do regardless.

For further assistance give us a call and we can set up an appointment.
